Sunset Lake Road Paving Committee

Background:

Sunset Lake Road is a dirt road and creates several problems for the lakes.

Goals:

• Research the efficacy of paving roads with lake frontage on curtailing sediment loading and phosphate pollution of lakes.  If paving is clearly merited then present case to the Directors for discussion and further action.

• Draft a policy statement outlining the Association’s opinion for review and adoption by the Directors.

• Provide a specific time frame for Association review and comment and then have a Board discussion to decide whether or not to officially adopt the Policy Statement.

• Distribute the Statement to FOVLAP, Benson and Orwell Town Officials and Highway departments, County and State Officials and employees.  Follow-up with phone calls.  Track pertinent legislation and grant possibilities.  Advocate as much as reasonably possible for the proposal..
